Veracio is free and open to anyone who wants to create more accurate online surveys. Currently, Veracio only includes census data to support US surveys, but we are working to bring better surveys to the rest of the globe. Get notified when we add new countries.
How does Veracio work?
Veracio works in much the same way as most other online survey tools, with one notable difference. Veracio compares your survey respondents to local census data and weights their answers to ensure your results accurate reflect the answers of the population you’re studying. (Remember, good things come to those who weight!)
Are there any hidden fees?
No. Veracio is completely free for anyone to use, thanks to generous funding from the Knight Foundation Data Challenge. You can use Veracio as much and as often as you like, there will be no charge.
Why do I have to make an account?
In order for Veracio to collect and save your survey results in a way that only you can view, we need you to create a private account. Rest assured we do not use or sell your contact information without your consent.
Can I make more than one survey?
Yes, in fact, we hope you will! There is no limit to the number of surveys you can create with your Veracio account.
Can I download my survey results to analyze or save offline?
Absolutely. We know that collecting data from the people you’re studying is only the first step. It’s easy to download all your survey data and use it in Microsoft Excel, Tableau, R, or SPSS. Learn more about understanding and using your results in our tutorial.
How do I come up with good survey questions?
Your project or story is unique; so unfortunately, we can’t tell you what questions are right for you. We can tell you that there is no upper limit to the number of questions you can include in your Veracio survey, so feel free to be as thorough and specific as you need to be.
